Puzzle or Painting?

The pieces of a puzzle put together may create an attractive image, but the lines of the puzzle pieces will always show and betray its fragmentation. It will never have the organic fluidity, the integrated nature of a painting.

So it is with the body. Exercising parts of the body as if it were an object to be taken apart, worked on, and then reassembled degrades the body, reduces it to a mechanism, and denies the interconnectedness of body and mind as a whole.

Unless one moves the body and the mind together in concert, in a balanced, full-bodied way, there will always be fragmentation, functionally and aesthetically.
